By Degrees is a series of cyanotype prints exploring memory, photography, and landscape through processes of reconstruction and material layering. The work is informed by the loss of a personal photographic archive in a house fire, where family images and records of place were destroyed. In response, the series builds images from fragments, surviving photographs and reconstructed references.

Using cyanotype on raw canvas, the works shift photographic image into a more tactile surface, while botanical toning embeds traces of specific landscapes directly into the print. Rather than functioning as documentation, the images operate as layered reconfigurations of memory, where landscape is both subject and material.
